Trying to do a new install of Exchange 2007 (build 8.0.685.25) on a new 2008
Server. Here's a copy of the setup interface.. A little background... There
was a 2003 Server in place with Exchange 2003 that was the PDC but died. All
the roles were switched over to the other DC, then this server was brought up
and added. Since we hadn't done anything with the original 2003 Exchange
server, no data/etc. needed to be recovered. All we're trying to do now is
get Exchange 2007 up and running so we can use that.

OK, a couple of things.
A) The version of Windows 2008 is the 64 bit version, correct? You didn't
mention that.
B) You should download the SP1 version of Exchange if you are going to
install in Windows 2008.

That download is the full installer. In other words, install directly from
the extracted download.

Trying to do a new install of Exchange 2007 (build 8.0.685.25) on a new
2008
Server. Here's a copy of the setup interface.. A little background...
There
was a 2003 Server in place with Exchange 2003 that was the PDC but died..
All
the roles were switched over to the other DC, then this server was brought
up
and added. Since we hadn't done anything with the original 2003 Exchange
server, no data/etc. needed to be recovered. All we're trying to do now is
get Exchange 2007 up and running so we can use that.

Reason why Mark is asking the important question of 64-bit edition is
for the fact that the Exchange setup logs talks about:
