In this movie, God directs Congressman Evan Baxter to build an Ark,
giving him the wood and tools necessary. When Evan agrees to build
the Ark, why doesn't he immediately hire a construction firm to help
him?

Great moments: Pairs of animals following Evan around.

Birds flying into his office.

The book "Ark Building For Dummies". The author has 6,717,323,711
children and lives in everything.

Evan's beard growing back within seconds after he shaves it.

Evan being congratulated for buying the eight lots next door and
pulling the down payment out of his home equity. Evan denies doing
so. Why isn't he screaming about being a victim of identity theft?

Evan's wife thinking that he's loony tunes.

Evan's first fumbling efforts to build the Ark.

The fish in Long's office following Evan.

The human powered crane, powered by Evan's sons.

Evan's robe.

God appearing on TV to warn of the flood coming on September 22.

Evan's beard ponytail.

God removing Evan's clothes outside his house.

Evan putting on his formal clothes over his robe.

God removing Evan's clothes on the floor of Congress, leaving just his
robe. I bet that CNN will replay that scene in super slow motion!

The animals invading Congress.

Evan ranting about a flood coming on the floor of Congress.

The animals helping to build the Ark.

The city ordering the Ark torn down.

Congressman Long's dam breaking, washing the Ark all the way to the
Capitol. The dam wasn't built right.

Great Moments: Evan reading Long's immense bill to open our national
parks to development.

Evan being sprayed by a sprinkler as his wife leaves him.

God persuading Evan's wife to return to him so that Evan and his
family can get through the Ark crisis as a family side by side.

Evan's white beard.

Cameramen being chased away by a pair of lions.

The animals helping to build the Ark.

The animals boarding the Ark. I hope Evan remembered to stock food
for them!

Evan's staff telling him of how Congressman Long got a dam built and
passed out the surrounding lands to private investors. Long plans to
do the same with the national parks via his land use bill.

The police preparing to wreck the Ark. At this point, Evan should
have had his birds attack the wrecking machine.

Evan realizing that Long's dam is about to break.

Everyone rushing pell mell onto the Ark.

Long's dam breaking, washing the Ark down the river.

A wave redirecting the Ark away from a bridge and onto the steps of
the Capitol.

Why did God choose this melodramatic way of saving the people under
the dam? Wouldn't it be simpler to just shore up the dam so that it
wouldn't break?

save people and animals from a flood which is to occur at noon on
September 22)
giving him the wood and tools necessary. When Evan agrees to build
the Ark, why doesn't he immediately hire a construction firm to help

On September 22, Evan yells at the crowd to board the Ark, but no one
listens. Then Evan finally realizes that the Long Reservoir Dam is
about to break, and yells again for people to get on the Ark. Why
doesn't he also say "The dam over there is about to break!!!"?

Imaginary Dialogue: The police: Leave the Ark, or we will come in to
take you off!

Evan: If you try to take me off, my animal friends will kick your
collective asses!

Great Moment:

God appearing on TV to warn of the flood coming on September 22. He
puts lots graphics of rain clouds on the TV screen. Why doesn't he
say anything about the dam breaking?

In this movie, God directs Congressman Evan Baxter to build an Ark (to
save people and animals from a flood which is to occur at noon on
September 22), even though it hasn't rained all summer. At the
climatic moment, it rains for 10 minutes, then stops. A few minutes
later, the Long Reservoir, filled to the top, breaks, causing the
predicted flood. Shouldn't the summer long drought have caused the
reservoir's water levels to drop well below the top. How in the world
could ten minutes of rain have filled a drought depleted reservoir to
fill to the top?

More great moments:

The birds shitting all over Congressman Long as they fly out of the
House chambers after Evan's "The Flood Is Coming" rant.

An Alpaca spitting on Long after the Ark arrives at the Capitol.
