Post subject: To buy or not to buy

I have been playing with 2010 free 64 bit.

My two trigger points are whether or not I can get Skype to work (video is
now working but no sound) and getting kaffeine to display TV. I read that
the non-free versions comes with all the necessary libraries for Skype but
kaffeine for kde4 is still in development. My attempts at compiling kaffeine
0.0.8 source is stalled at ./configure.

So will I be better of to bite the bullet and shell out 59 Euros for the
non-free version?

I would expect the proprietary stuff to be in the plf
repositories. Some of that is "use at your own [legal] risk"
for those in the USA and maybe some other countries.

Cheers!

plf does not include stuff that the company charges for. It includes "free"
proprietary stuff (eg xv, a shareware program, ...)
